Your skin deserves natural ingredients, it just shouldn't be at the expense of achieving the look you love. Until now choosing natural and organic makeup meant tolerating poor performance. Clean makeup ingredients equaled weak pigmentation and colour payoff. There was a gap between the function and the formulation.

Antonym Cosmetics was founded by Miami makeup artist Valerie (Val) Giraud who sought to create the best organic makeup and makeup brushes that were cruelty free and gentle on the skin. According to Val, natural makeup doesn’t have to mean a natural look. This is why Antonym is certified natural and organic and highly pigmented.

Val created Antonym beauty to bridge that gap; a natural and organic makeup line that offers professional level performance without compromising the integrity of the makeup ingredients. She call it gentle face fashion, a philosophy of kind ingredients with strong performance.

Born in Cannes, France, Val's passion and love for fashion and beauty, eventually brought her to London where she began to pursue her career as a makeup artist. In the late 90’s, Val made her way to Miami, one of the production capitals of the world, where she began working with top professionals and celebrities in TV, film, commercials and print. She launched the makeup line in 2013.

Her favourite beauty tip: the way you feel on the inside reflects the way you look on the outside, (but a little lipstick and mascara help).
